Repowered: Warehouse Fly-Over Tour!

Welcome to Repowered!

We were fortunate to have some drone footage taken of our facility, located at 860 Vandalia St in Saint Paul. In this blog post, we’ll break down the various areas and their functions in our wonderful warehouse.

Receiving:

Our truck team picks up electronics from local businesses around the state and brings them back to Repowered for further processing and recycling. The receiving area is where incoming material is checked-in and placed on conveyors, waiting to be sorted.

Sort/Triage:

Our dedicated team in the Sort/Triage area meticulously examines each item to determine its next destination. Our team handles thousands of varieties of electronics daily. Items are either sent to Test & Repair for further processing, or sorted into categories for materials recovery. Data-bearing items such as hard drives are either erased/sanitized or physically destroyed.

Test & Repair:

In this department, our skilled technicians evaluate the items that come from Sort/Triage. Each item is thoroughly tested, and all hard drives are wiped or replaced. If devices are not working but still have value, our technicians will repair them. This refurbishing process is then quality-checked by our eCommerce and Retail teams before items are offered for sale.

Shipping:

Our shipping team is responsible for loading pallets of electronics into our trucks for delivery to other responsible recyclers for further processing.
